Last week was a good one for news:rewired speakers past and present. Online magazine for Gloucestershire SoGlos.com was named best website at the EDF Energy South West Media Awards. The site was praised for coupling high-quality journalism with technological innovation. We’ve written about some of its digital developments before – check out its widgets and events planner – and SoGlos’ deputy editor James Fryer spoke at our news:rewired conference in January on online business models for journalism start-ups.

Meanwhile Reed Business Information’s (RBI) FlightGlobal won best business website at Thursday’s Association of Online Publishers (AOP) awards. Michael Targett, online and digital development editor at Flightglobal, will be addressing next week’s news:rewired – the nouveau niche on how the title has been using mobile and what opportunities it offers specialists journalists and publishers.

Congratulations to both.
