Announcing CoveritLive as latest sponsor of news:rewired – full stream ahead

The one-day event, which takes place next week on Friday 13 July at MSN UK’s offices in Victoria, will be focused on the latest tools, techniques and tips on how to produce the best journalism online and make it earn its keep, with innovative case studies from the industry. Here’s the full agenda.

News outlets can use CoveritLive to bring together contributions and commentary on live events in one place, with the ability to also enable audience members to interact on the platform, such as by asking questions. Example news outlets which it identifies as users of the platform include ITV, the BBC, the Times and Le Monde.

According to CoveritLive each month the more than 20,000 events being covered on the platform receive more than 60 million unique viewers. CoveritLive also find that tens of thousands of viewers are known to stick around on event coverage on the platform for around 45 minutes or longer, which can add up to more than a billion minutes a month.

Demand Media’s senior director and general manager for CoveritLive, Ben Schneider, will be joining the final panel at news:rewired on Friday 13 July: The news stream: Lessons in live digital news reporting.

The final panel will discuss the different approaches to real-time reporting of news online, the decision making processes behind it and its impact on process within the newsroom.
