Announcing BuzzData as latest sponsor of news:rewired – connected journalism

Collaborative data platform BuzzData has been named as the latest sponsor of Journalism.co.uk ‘s news:rewired – connected journalism conference, on 6 October.

The conference will offer insight into the latest opportunities for integration and collaboration, within the newsroom and with the wider community.

Communications director Momoko Price will join the final panel of the day to discuss the future of collaboration in journalism and how journalists can make the most of the open web environment, share data and encourage greater transparency through greater accessibility and awareness of information.

The session will bring together digital journalism experts for a discussion on the key issues raised in an environment of participatory journalism: adopting a “digital-first” mentality, the values and standards of the link-economy and the role and responsibilities of journalists and news organisation as active members of the open-web community.

Price will be joined by the editor of BBC News Online Steve Herrmann and Reuters’ social media editor Anthony De Rosa via Skype. More speakers will be announced shortly.

Currently in public beta, BuzzData is a social data-publishing platform that enables users to work together on datasets, publish them easily and keep them connected to a networked, trackable community.

BuzzData’s social features allow users to build visible communities and discussions around data, as well as follow changes, revisions, corrections and expansions to data as soon as they occur.

Tickets for news:rewired are still available and cost just £130 (+VAT). Book yours now at this link to avoid disappointment.
