Announcing ThingLink as the latest sponsor of news:rewired – digital stories

We’re pleased to announce ThingLink, a platform which enables publishers to make photos and graphics interactive, as the latest sponsor of news:rewired – digital stories.

The one-day digital journalism conference takes place on Thursday 6 December at MSN UK, in Victoria, London. It will bring together key digital journalism experts and innovators for a day of sessions, workshops, debates and discussion, looking at the latest techniques and tools for producing top-notch digital journalism.

ThingLink offers an image editor that can be used by publishers to make photos and graphics interactive, through the tagging of additional content onto an image, such as video, audio and social media links.

More than 35,000 publishers are said to currently use ThingLink, including the Guardian, Washington Post, National Post, Metro France, Mashable, Radio Canada, L’Avenir, Berliner Morgenpost and France3.tv.

ThingLink offers rich media tags for content from a variety of web sources, such as YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Spotify, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Maps, Facebook and more. It is also compatible with a range of publishing platforms, including WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger and Drupal.

ThingLink’s creative director Jonas Forth will be speaking about bringing images and graphics to life in the visual storytelling session at news:rewired in December.

He has a background in journalism, transmedia storytelling and development of online services. At ThingLink he develops new ways of using interactive images for communication, business and education.
