Los Angeles Times’s Jimmy Orr to deliver news:rewired keynote

Jimmy Orr will deliver the keynote presentation at news:rewired on 20 September.

He’ll talk about the LA Times’s transformation to digital, sharing key lessons learnt.

Orr has had careers in both journalism and politics. He served as chief internet strategist for both President George Bush and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also served as a White House spokesman for President Bush.

LinkedIn to run workshop for journalists at news:rewired

The next news:rewired digital journalism conference, which takes place on Friday 20 September, will cover a range of subjects, including breaking news, verification, mapping and online video.

The agenda will also offer a variation of session styles, from panel discussions and case-study presentations, to more practical workshops.

One of the workshops which will be on offer to delegates at the event will focus on LinkedIn, giving delegates a run-through of the different features available to help them in their news.

The workshop will be run by Richard George, corporate communications manager, EMEA, LinkedIn and Darain Faraz, communications manager, LinkedIn.

Last week we announced the first of the subjects to be covered at the next news:rewired digital journalism conference, which returns to MSN UK’s offices in Victoria, London, on Friday 20 September.

news:rewired is a one-day digital journalism conference run by Journalism.co.uk. Here at Journalism.co.uk we’ve been busy working on ideas for our next news:rewired digital journalism conference, which takes place in London on Friday 20 September.

It is our tenth event, the second so far in 2013, and we’re planning a jam-packed day of inspiring presentations, practical workshops, expert tips and techniques and plenty of food-for-thought.
