Sameer runs Macroscope, which works with clients, partners and peers in the UK, Europe and beyond to help transform and grow the public interest journalism and information ecosystem.
He works with journalists, funders, investors, researchers and others on a range of journalism and media innovation, funding and policy initiatives, at the global level, in different regions and countries around the world, and in the UK.
An experienced grant maker, he has published two journalism grantmaking guides – How to Fund Investigative Journalism (Deutsche Welle Akademie), and An Introduction to Funding Journalism and Media (Ariadne Network), and was the lead rapporteur for the Forum on Information and Democracy’s landmark global report calling for ‘A New Deal for Journalism’. Sameer is also a proud trustee of the Indigo Trust and the Doc Society.
