Nadine White

Nadine White is one of Britain’s leading black news reporters. A multi-award-winning
journalist, filmmaker and founder of Black Current News, her journalism career has
spanned outlets including HuffPost UK, The Voice Newspaper and the local press,
before she made history in 2021 as Britain’s first dedicated race correspondent at
The Independent, leading agenda-setting coverage on black and minoritised
communities, politics and current affairs.

A former Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree, Nadine has earned recognition from the
British Journalism Awards, Amnesty International and in the Houses of Parliament. She
also made history in 2021 as the first Black reporter shortlisted for the prestigious
Paul Foot Award for investigative journalism.

Nadine’s debut, self-produced documentary, Barrel Children: The Families Windrush
Left Behind (2023), became a UK box-office hit and earned her the Menelik Shabazz
Legacy Award at the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival.

Raised in London, Nadine has been recognised across major outlets, including Condé
Nast, The Guardian
and the BBC, for her impact on equality and social change. She
has also been ranked on the global list of the Most Influential People of African
Descent under 40.
