news:rewired is sold out – but digital tickets still available

Tickets to next week’s news:rewired digital journalism conference have sold out! But if you didn’t manage to get a ticket for the one-day event on 23 July in time, don’t worry – you can still buy a digital ticket that gives you access to videos of the workshops and sessions that will take place on the day.

The event takes place on Wednesday 23 July at the MSN UK office in Victoria, and we will aim to have the videos available to view within a week of the conference.

There are also still spaces on our one-day workshops running in London on Thursday 24 July, which can be attended for just £200 +VAT. There are three choices of practical workshops to choose from:

Digital tickets now available for news:rewired

We’re happy to announce that digital tickets for the next news:rewired are now available, so even if you can’t make it to the conference itself you still have a chance to catch the talks and sessions from the day.

The event, at MSN HQ in London on Wednesday 23 July, brings leaders in digital journalism together to discuss their work, share advice and lead workshops in relevant areas.

As well as the networking opportunities and extra materials available on the day, there will be focused post-lunch workshops looking at mobile apps and tools for journalists; creating immersive, longform stories; and using analytics to understand the audience.

While these workshops will give delegates a practical, hands-on guide to the particular subjects, they will not be filmed, and will not be included in the digital ticket offering.

There is also a full day of training the day after the conference, with a choice of courses in mobile journalism with RTÉ’s Glen Mulcahy, data journalism with Conrad Quilty-Harper of Ampp3d, or creating a buzz on social media with BuzzFeed UK editor Luke Lewis.

Announcing WSJ’s mobile editor David Ho as news:rewired keynote

We are pleased to announce David Ho, editor for mobile, tablets and emerging technology at The Wall Street Journal, as the keynote speaker for our news:rewired conference on Wednesday 23 July.

Ho will focus on “how news outlets and reporters can embrace the mobile revolution”, as well as considering “what comes beyond mobile and how emerging technologies will affect news and storytelling”.

In an additional workshop, later in the day at news:rewired, Ho will also highlight useful tools and apps for journalists interested in expanding their mobile toolbox.

The digital journalism conference will be held at MSN UK’s offices in Victoria, London, and will offer a range of sessions, including workshops and topical discussions, for those interested in the latest developments in digital journalism.

Announcing the training course options for news:rewired+ delegates: mobile, social or data

Our news:rewired+ tickets give delegates access to both the news:rewired conference on Wednesday 23 July and one of three training courses on Thursday 24 July.

There are three training courses to choose from are:

Mobile journalism: Create multimedia on iPhone & iPad, led by Glen Mulcahy, innovation lead at RTÉ

Creating a buzz: How to grow social media communities, led by Luke Lewis, editor of BuzzFeed UK

Data journalism online, led by Conrad Quilty-Harper, data journalist at Ampp3d

We will have more details on the contents of the data journalism course very soon.

news:rewired+ tickets are currently available at a limited discount earlybird rate of just £245 +VAT, which is a 25 per cent discount on the training courses (which cost £200 +VAT to book separately).

However, this discount will only be available for the first 50 tickets sold (news:rewired and news:rewired+ combined), or by the end of Thursday 8 May, whichever comes first. After this point news:rewired+ tickets will rise to £300 +VAT, which still gives you a 15 per cent discount on the training course when booked as part of news:rewired+.

The next news:rewired digital journalism conference: Wednesday 23 July

Following another sell-out event in February, we’re pleased to announce our next news:rewired conference will take place on Wednesday 23 July.

The one-day conference, which is run by Journalism.co.uk, will cover key areas of innovation and experimentation in digital journalism, with a focus on sharing practical tips and techniques to help delegates produce more engaging content on digital platforms.

As of today, we have 50 earlybird discount tickets available for just £95 +VAT. Once all 50 have been sold, or by the end of Thursday 8 May, whichever comes first, the ticket price will rise to £130 +VAT.

This time, we’re also giving you the chance to add-on an additional day of digital journalism training, with a news:rewired+ ticket, which gives you access to the conference on Wednesday 23 July as well as a one-day training course on Thursday 24 July – for just £245 +VAT.

The earlybird news:rewired+ tickets offer delegates a 25 per cent discount on the Friday training course when booked together. Again, this is a limited discount, which also falls within the 50-ticket limit, or by the end of Thursday 8 May, whichever comes first. After this point news:rewired+ tickets will rise to £300, which gives you a discount of just under 15 per cent on the training course when booked with news:rewired.

There will be three training courses on offer to attend on Thursday 24 July as part of news:rewired+. We will be sharing more details on the options available soon. Update: We have now announced the details of the three training courses on offer, which cover social media, data journalism and mobile reporting.

Journalists, editors and other media professionals packed into MSN UK’s office in Victoria, London, yesterday for the 11th news:rewired digital journalism conference.
