We’re pleased to confirm Tout as the latest sponsor of news:rewired, the one-day digital journalism conference by Journalism.co.uk.

The short-form video platform, which is used by outlets such as Digital First Media and the Wall Street Journal, allows journalists to capture a range of media from breaking news footage to snappy interviews.

Michael Downing, who is founder and chief executive of Tout, will join the short-form video session at news:rewired on Thursday 20 February.

Other speakers in the session include Kamali Melbourne, online video producer at Channel 4 News, Peter Winfield, videographics director for the Economist and Matt Danzico, head of the BBC Innovation Lab.

Tickets to the event have sold out, but digital tickets are available for £100 +VAT, giving holders access to session and workshop videos after the event.

We’re pleased to announce OnePulse as latest sponsor of news:rewired, Journalism.co.uk’s digital journalism conference.

The news:rewired conference takes place next week, on Thursday 20 February, at the MSN UK offices in Victoria, London.

Chief marketing officer of OnePulse Nick Walter, also sales and marketing director of Rawduck, will deliver a short presentation at the event, outlining how journalists can use market research tool OnePulse to survey their readers and online community, whether to gather opinion on a particular story, or to help guide developments and changes to the news outlet itself.

We’re pleased to announce Zentrick as the latest sponsor of news:rewired, the one-day digital journalism conference taking place on Thursday 20 February.

news:rewired, the one-day digital journalism conference hosted by Journalism.co.uk, takes place just four weeks tomorrow (Thursday 23 January)!

Over the past weeks and months the Journalism.co.uk team has been working hard to build an agenda focused on the latest innovations from newsrooms in the UK, Europe and the US, with inspirational industry case studies and helpful practical tips to be shared along the way.

The event at MSN UK’s offices in London, Victoria, on Thursday 20 February will cover a range of vital digital journalism skills as well as highlight the latest tools in innovation.

Social asset management platform SAM is latest sponsor of news:rewired

We’re pleased to announce SAM, an ‘online social asset management platform’, as the latest sponsor of Journalism.co.uk’s digital journalism conference news:rewired.

The event is being held on Thursday 20 February at MSN UK’s offices in Victoria, London.

SAM, which can be used by journalists and others in the media to search, curate and organise social media content, is currently in private beta. Delegates at news:rewired will be treated to a ‘sneak peak’ of the platform, highlighting its potential use by journalists.

Announcing Shorthand as the latest sponsor of news:rewired

We’re delighted to announce Shorthand, a platform for the creation of interactive storytelling, as the latest sponsor of Journalism.co.uk’s digital journalism conference news:rewired.

Shorthand, which aims to simplify the process of producing full-impact multimedia stories, is working on building a public tool which is “currently in private beta”. It has, however, already worked with a number of news outlets, including first the Guardian and just this month ESPN.co.uk for their end-of-year look back at key sporting moments.

At news:rewired Ben Fogarty, executive manager of Shorthand, will take part in a workshop looking at how journalists can produce immersive stories on digital platforms.

BuzzFeed’s editorial director Jack Shepherd to deliver news:rewired keynote

Jack Shepherd, editorial director of BuzzFeed, will deliver the keynote speech at next year’s news:rewired, Journalism.co.uk’s digital journalism conference.

BuzzFeed originally launched in 2006, and this November reported 130 million unique users. Known for its lists, eye-catching visuals and snappy headlines, the site is also making strides on the serious side, covering breaking news and long-form journalism.

In his keynote speech at news:rewired, Shepherd will address how news outlets can strengthen their efforts in making the content they produce more shareable.

He will also return to join the first session discussion, which will remain on the social media theme with a look at social media judgement and more on shareability.

Other sessions due to take place over the course of the day will offer expert advice and recommended tools on subjects such as how to do data journalism on a budget, engage with the community, source content from Instagram, stay secure online and produce immersive journalism.

This is Journalism.co.uk’s eleventh news:rewired conference, and is expected to be another sell out. Tickets are still available for £130 +VAT.
